Synopsis
This 3-day program will qualify the successful participants on the RF Vision, P5000i/FiberChek Probe, OMK-35, and the OneAdvisor 800 for the following Macro/Small cell construction and maintenance test applications:
Antenna Alignment Cable/Antenna Analysis Fiber Testing (Inspection/Loss/OTDR)
The course will use a mix of lecture on underlying concepts with immediate reinforcement by practical hands-on labs such that the participant can perform the test, understand the results and apply the results to locate and resolve any issues. There will be a specific emphasis on hands-on learning. It will require passing both a written exam as well as a hands-on proficiency evaluation to receive a Certification. Those who abstain from or fail the final evaluations will receive a Course Attendance acknowledgement.
Prerequisites
A basic understanding of telecommunications transmission principles and the fiber/RF architecture at a Macro/Small Cell Site
Who Should Attend
Tower Climbers, Foreman, Project Managers. Anyone responsible for the quality and on time delivery of a working cell site.
Course Goals
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify the causes of loss/reflection in both coaxial and fiber optic systems
Perform proper inspection and cleaning techniques of optical fiber end-faces on test equipment, SFPx, patch panels, and fibers.
Perform an Optical Insertion Loss test with OLS-35v2 Optical Source and OLP-35v2 Power Meter
Navigate the ONA 800 GUI and menus to configure for end face inspection, OTDR, and cable and antenna testing
Demonstrate the proper use of the ONA 800 OTDR and P5000i/FiberChek Probe to perform the FTTA testing process
Demonstrate the proper use of the ONA 800 CAA to perform cable and antenna analysis
Align a panel style antenna for azimuth, tilt, roll.
Demonstrate the ability to save and export results from the RF Vision and ONA 800 as required for close out.
