The Sumitomo FTA-02 Fiber Arrangement Tool Kit streamlines the process of converting individual 250 µm coated fibers into organized ribbons, facilitating efficient mass fusion splicing. This tool is compatible with all Sumitomo Electric mass fusion splicers and supports the creation of 2- to 12-fiber ribbons. The ribbonizing process is completed in under 3 minutes, including adhesive drying time, resulting in ribbons that can be stripped, cleaved, and spliced similarly to manufactured ribbon fibers.
The FTA-02 kit includes the Fiber Arrangement Tool, a durable plastic carrying case, and a pair of fiber arrangement shims. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use the FAC-24 consumable kit (sold separately), which provides sufficient materials to construct up to 30 ribbons.
