EMC receivers and EMI analyzers are utilized for radiated and conducted emissions testing. These are essential pieces of equipment for when transient signals or spurious emissions are present, as they are used to collect and analyze data. CISPR, IEC, FCC, and MIL-STD have all established standards for testing emissions and suggest the use of an EMI receiver to be fully compliant. This is because EMI receivers are more reliable in making measurements. While testing, it is important to examine test standard requirements for Quasi-peak (QP) detectors or CISPR average detectors, requirements for resolution bandwidth (RBW) in regards to a satisfactory amount of measurement points per frequency span, noise floor extension, and software for pass-fail conditions that are not handled well by most spectrum analyzers. EMC receivers and EMI analyzers work best for pre-compliance testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting.
Avalon Test Equipment carries a variety of EMC receivers and EMI analyzers from top manufacturers (R&S, Keysight, and more to meet your testing requirements.
