RF attenuators weaken the strength of an RF signal while still retaining the signal's integrity. This is accomplished by the RF attenuator decreasing the amplitude of signals achieving gain levels below 1dB and is known as loss. To compensate for components generating over-powered emissions, RF attenuators are integrated into an electrical system.
The three types are attenuators are, fixed, switched, and variable. Fixed RF attenuators have a set emission reduction value during operation. Switched attenuators allow for switches while operating, which can adjust the degree the signal will be reduced. Variable attenuators constantly adjust the power of a signal and are best used when accuracy is not required.
Avalon Test Equipment carries a variety of attenuators to satisfy your specific requirements. Rent or purchase from Avalon and Test With Confidence®.
