The ACCESS Master MT9085 is a compact handheld device for optical pulse tests, optical loss/power measurements, and optical fiber end-face inspections. The upgraded 8-inch color touchscreen complements the Fiber Visualizer function with at-a-glance confirmation of the optical fiber transmission path.

The optical pulse test measures the optical fiber transmission loss and fiber length as well as detects events, such as breaks in the fiber continuity. The MT9085 is able to support both single-mode and multimode and includes support for various wavelengths matching the measurement environment. The Fiber Visualizer function is easy-to-use with two types of realtime sweep to check the status of fiber connects and bends while monitoring the waveform. The excellent waveform quality supports short to long-distance optical measurements, including PON and realtime measurement.

There is a built-in light source and power loss measurement functions that make the MT9085 ideal for confirming the status of optical fiber installations and fault conditions.

An external fiberscope option (sold separately) is used to displace the condition of the optical connector ferrule end face on the screen of the MT9085. It is important to do an optical fiber end-face inspection because dirt and scratches on the ferrule face have a major impact on optical fiber circuit transmission quality along with preventing accurate optical pulse tests and measurement of optical loss power
